WhatsApp Business API
A programmatic interface that lets medium and large businesses send and receive WhatsApp messages at scale through automated systems.
How it works
The WhatsApp Business API (formerly known as the WhatsApp Business Platform) is Meta's official interface for enterprises to integrate WhatsApp messaging into their existing tech stack. Unlike the free WhatsApp Business App designed for small businesses, the API supports automation, CRM integration, multi-agent inboxes, and high-volume messaging. Businesses access the API through a Business Solution Provider (BSP) like SuperWaba, which handles hosting, compliance, and message routing. The API enforces conversation-based pricing where each 24-hour session is billed as one conversation, split into business-initiated and user-initiated categories.
